HKSAR V. XIE BINLONG

Xie Binlong applied for leave to appeal against his sentence of 10 years and 6 months' imprisonment for robbery of 112 pieces of gold jewellery from a jewellery shop, for which he received a 25% discount for a late guilty plea. The Court of Appeal found the sentence was not manifestly excessive given the substantial value of the stolen items, the use of a weapon, and the applicant's role. Leave to appeal was refused.
